The Ivanhoe Hotel is a long established, family owned hotel in Carryduff, Belfast, offering 29 refurbished bedrooms, including the Maguires Suite, the popular Bar & Grill bistro, the charming Parlour Bar, as well as two large, beautifully designed function rooms and with a private meeting room, suitable for all occasions and celebrations.
Due to a successful post Covid recovery and continued expansion plans, The Ivanhoe Hotel is seeking a motivated and pro-active marketing professional to showcase the hotel to existing and new customers across all marketing platforms. As Sales and Marketing Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading on all marketing activities and delivering the key hotel objectives in partnership with the hotel management team. Responsibilities:
Strategy:
- Work with the General Manager and hotel colleagues to deliver content in line with brand standards and hotel sales and marketing strategy, in a consistent, accurate, professional and prompt manner to all key target markets
- Work with the General Manager to review the sales and marketing atrategy and update with an Action Plan annually in line with sales targets
Digital Content:
- Manage and update hotel website in line with the sales and marketing strategy working with the partner website design company, maintaining collateral, offers, descriptions in liaison with hotel department managers
- Publish content to social media channels on a regular basis (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc.) and in line with guidelines focusing on target markets
- Execute and manage media campaigns to build followers, enhance visibility, and drive engagement within agreed budgets
- Conduct analysis to assess the performance of digital content
- Perform “social listening” to identify influencers and outreach opportunities
- Provide ongoing analysis and performance reporting
- Make recommendations to management regarding improvements
- Create and manage scoping documentation, program schedule, and project checklists
Budget:
- Overall management of the Marketing budget, in liaison with General Manager, to ensure appropriate and effective spend as per annual budget
- Report on the Marketing budget effectiveness in relation to sales targets
- Maintain the Marketing Calendar and Budgets and report weekly
- Approve all related quotes and invoices in liaison with the General Manager
Essential Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years marketing experience, ideally hospitality, service or retail sectors
- Budget management experience and good numerical skills
- Experience of digital content & social media, including scheduling programmes, such as Hootsuite, international social media experience a plus
- Copywriting skills
- Experience with Photoshop, Canva, WordPress and MailChimp
- Knowledge of CRM databases, including segmentation & targeting for personalization
- Solid understanding of email KPIs and deriving insights for wider business reporting and actions
- Experience of working in a fast-moving environment, with an ability to handle numerous projects with competing deadlines and priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Highly organized, with good time management skills
- Self-motivated, adaptable, with a willingness to learn
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Computer literate – Excel, Word, Mac & Windows OS.
- Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Ability to execute, monitor and analyse campaigns
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- 3 Year Higher Degree in Sales and Marketing
- Understanding of GDPR requirements and processes
